Comprehensive Eye Examinations
Our practice is based on the philosophy of providing comprehensive quality vision care. Using the latest technology, we provide a thorough professional eye exam, including dilation of the pupil as necessary. Blood pressure, glaucoma testing, and visual fields are included.
Contact Lenses
We consider our in office contact lens inventory to be one of the largest in the Peoria area. This allows us to trial fit most contact lens prescriptions the day of the exam. We also fit difficult prescriptions including astigmatism and bifocals in custom made soft and gas permeable lenses.We stock boxes and boxes of most standard contact lens prescriptions especially Ciba and Johnson & Johnson. Currently we are adding new lenses especially developed for dry eyes and allergies

Help with Learning Related Vision Problems
Our office has expertise in caring for children with learning and/or reading difficulties. Through special instruments and testing we are able to diagnose and select appropriate management strategies for patients (young and old) with learning related vision problems. Proper treatment helps to minimize adverse affects of learning related vision problems and enhance quality of life. We spend considerable time informing and educating parents, teachers and other health care professionals about the nature of these problems and the availability of treatment
Refractive Surgery Consultation
We also offer consultation of Refractive Surgery as well as pre and post operative care associated with this surgery. Local ophthalmologists and TLC doctors perform the refractive surgery, i.e. LASIK & PRK.
Eye Infections, Eye Injuries, Dry Eyes
Our office provides emergency services for eye infections and eye injuries. Please call our office at 309-692-5500 during office hours. Our staff will work with you to schedule an appointment as soon as possible. State of the art microscopes allow us to examine the front surface of the eye and facial areas around the eye for infection or injury. After assessing the extent of the injury or infection a treatment plan will be formulated and explained to you. Treatment may include medications and supportive care. Follow-up visits to monitor your recovery will be scheduled as needed.
Dry Eyes: Symptoms include scratchy eyes, burning, mild redness and gritty feeling eyes. Oral medications, reading, computer tasks and dry environments may aggravate marginally dry eyes. Dry eyes can be diagnosed by using dyes to observe tear patterns, evaluation of the amount of tears on the front of the eye and from review of your symptoms. Treatment may include artificial tears; eye drops for treating allergies; and/or punctal plugs inserted in the tear drainage canals.
Developmental examination
Appointments may be scheduled by parents that encounter problems related to the child's inability to perform to their full learning potential. It is recommended that children have vision examinations at three years and upon entry into school. Vision exams are recommended yearly for children during the growth years if they are wearing glasses or have learning/reading difficulties.
